“What is the best Magic Show Room Setup for the performance?”
This is a question that I hear often from parents. Briefly, it is best to have me place the stage area in front of the fireplace or a wall. Ideally, there will not be a window next to me…the kids don’t need to be distracted by what’s happening outside. The audience should be seated in front of me and not to the sides. Children can sit on the floor or in chairs. If the layout of your home or facility allows this, try to position me in a way so that traffic for the restroom or other parts of the house will not pass next to the stage area. Again, this is to minimize distractions during the show. Also, toys are best put away so as not to draw the children’s attention. We don’t want them to be disappointed that they missed a special magical effect or something really funny because they looked away at the wrong time.

Even if your magic show won’t be enjoyed in a home, the concepts shared above and the diagram still apply to larger venues and actual stage areas. One of the most critical room layout considerations is to have the kids gathered close together. Something is lost when people are spread out in larger rooms.
